Having your kid wake up crying and puking at 3 in the morning puking her guts.
I'm checking for blood. But I know there are others aside from Frank with medical experience or at least similar experiences on the board. So any thoughts?
I'm pretty sure it's food poisoning and I haven't found blood. Both I and the SO both had upset stomachs earlier in the evening with the runs. The kid (in her mid 2s) had the same thing as us and went to bed and woke up vomiting her food contents in a solid form. She has vomited several cupfuls.

Sounds like food poisoning. If the vomiting stops, ply with liquids - soup, water, gatorade, juice.
If it doesn't, well, that's what the hospital is for. The only danger from runs or vomiting is dehydration, but that takes hours to set in. Make sure liquids - not sugar/caffiene sodas - are provided.
The stomach is doing what it's supposed to, and yes, can contain several cups. I'm sorry, first aid isn't very helpful here. Nor would what the hospital would say unless you have really, really good coverage.

Yeah, tis was the hospital in this case. After about four and a half of vomitting and wailing and sleep and no sleep on her part. We haver back in a cautious sleep. We took her to the ER.
She caught a Viral Bug and was seriously dehydrated and was low in all her essentials. In retrospect, the topic wasn't the best for the den, but it was 3 or 2 or bumfvck in the morning and I''m a first time parent and my wife woke up with the kiddo pukinng. I panicked into nerd Fight mode -- RESEARCH. the usual websites didn't give much. so I tried turning to some of the other alternatives.
When her pediatrician opens up, I'll set up an appointment.

Much of what people call "food poisoning" is viral infections of one form or another. Just because you have stomach cramps is no indication that it was spread through your food.
Unfortunately, there isn't a whole lot that can be done to cure a viral infection, you're mostly concerned about water and nutrition levels until they are over it. Water with a little sugar and salt is absorbed faster and better than pure water. That's what Gatorade used to be, but now it's just flat soda. Better to grab Pokari Sweat or similar sports drinks that haven't sold out.

Gatorade, Gatorade X-factor, and Gatorade Tiger don't have oil bromides in them and haven't changed formulas. Tiger tastes like candy but in fact has more of the salts in it (and less sugar) than prior versions.
The low-sugar version (half?) and the water versions are horrible, as are Frost and some of the Ice versions.
It's not like they'd actually do a test to tell if it was a bacteria, virus, or microbial infection; that takes a bit more time. It would be less appropriate to call this a 'stomach flu' even though this is the common name for it. But spoiled food, bad preparation, unwashed hands, there's many more causes than virii and I doubt we really know which is more common.

Penii isn't a word, either. But it's way more fun to say than penises.
Sorry about your baby, Cynic. Glad she's doing better.

My son makes me laugh. Maybe he'll make you laugh, too.
